Transfer Station Services
SCRRRA provides recycling services to the 12 member municipality transfer stations for the following commodities that are collected there: tires, freon, cooking oil, lightbulbs, batteries, gas cylinders, used motor oil, antifreeze, oil filters, and oily debris. SCRRRA also coordinates several state-mandated programs for the recycling of paint, mattresses, and consumer electronics. SCRRRA owns and operates a horizontal wood grinder which is used to chip wood and brush collected at the transfer stations into a more manageable and useful mulch.
Transfer station employees should contact SCRRRA authorized vendors directly for these services, except for used motor oil. For used motor oil, PCB testing is required. Please use the form below to submit a service request and a SCRRRA representative will complete the process.
Other Services
In addition to the transfer station support, the Authority provides 9 household hazardous waste collection events at no cost to residents. These events also offer free paper shredding.
SCRRRA also provides a wide range of educational offerings to the region’s schools and civic organizations, as well as resources relating to composting, roadside cleanups, recycling with ClearStream containers, and more.
