Wood Grinder

grinder

SCRRRA owns and operates a heavy duty wood grinding machine (Terex TBG 650) that can be scheduled to reduce a town’s accumulation of clean brush. We provide wood grinding services on site, usually at a town’s transfer station or other designated location. With SCRRRA’s new equipment, the grinding process can be completed with SCRRRA staff – the town does not need to provide support.

At the conclusion of the wood grinding process, the pile of brush is reduced to mulch that can be used for various applications. Some towns opt for a “double” grind, which further reduces the material into finer mulch.

The following towns have taken advantage of this service:

  • East Lyme
  • Griswold
  • Groton
  • Ledyard
  • Montville
  • New London
  • North Stonington
  • Norwich
