HomePage-SCRRRAThe Southeastern Connecticut Regional Resource Recovery Authority (SCRRRA) is made up of 12 cities and towns in Southeastern Connecticut created to implement solutions for solid waste, recyclables, household hazardous waste, and other waste materials.

The Authority constructed a state of the art Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facility in the Town of Preston, CT. Operational in 1992, this 700+ ton per day, mass burn facility combines stringent environmental safeguards to produce 18 megawatts of electrical power while safely disposing of the region’s trash. Covanta Energy, a world leader in the WTE field, oversees operations at the Preston facility.

SCRRRA also provides an array of waste services to its member communities, including household hazardous waste collections, electronics recycling, and brush grinding. SCRRRA maintains a recycling and solid waste education center in Ledyard for students and community groups.


Last Household Hazardous Waste Collection for 2017 is Tomorrow!

The last Household Hazardous Waste Collection for this year is TOMORROW.  We will be at the Ledyard Transfer Station from 9am until 1pm.  We will also have the onsite paper shredding service onsite. As always – there is no charge for these services.  See you tomorrow.
